The PMCT Masjid Building Project consists of a total of two phases:
- Phase 1 involved the rezoning of the Fiona Way property to create a single Erven in order to establish the larger Masjid complex. The Fiona way property will be completely demolished, and rebuilt into a 2-storey building with an option to extend and have a 3rd
- Phase 2 of the Masjid Building Project involves repurposing the current Masjid structure on the Wendy Way property and linking up the 2 separate structures in a way that will allow for the facility to reach its full potential, and have adequate space for both the increasing numbers of Mussallees and Madressah students.
- Phase 2 however, still requires council approval, and these approvals will be sought once Phase 1 of the structure has been completed. Approvals for phase 2 of the Masjid Building Project can take up to 5 years to obtain.
- With the assistance of our community, we expect Phase 1 of the Masjid Building Project to be completed by August 2021, Insha-Allah.
Being a fairly large project, with the entire Fiona way property being demolished and rebuilt with a usable area of over 800m2, Phase 1 of the PMCT Masjid Building Project inclusive of labour and materials is expected to cost R11 million.
In anticipation of the project, the PMCT has spent a number of years saving funds for this very purpose, and to date Alhamdulillah we have managed to put aside R3.7 million which is available to us for use in the project.
With the assistance of the Panorama Muslim and extended communities, and most importantly through the Qudrat of the Almighty Allah (SWT), we are confident that we will obtain the funds necessary for this project, which will service not only this community, but future communities in the years to come.
